As a Specialist Freight & Customs, you are responsible for efficiently and compliantly organizing international goods movements. You ensure that transports run smoothly and that customs documentation is accurate and submitted on time. You work closely with internal departments, customers, carriers, and customs authorities.
Your main tasks are:
- Planning and booking international shipments (air, sea, and road transport)
- Preparing and checking customs and transport documents (e.g., EX-A, T1, invoices, airwaybills)
- Applying the correct HS codes and certificates of origin
- Handling customs formalities such as imports under license, temporary imports, and re-exports
- Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and permits
- Checking transport and customs costs and coordinating with Finance
- Monitoring shipments and taking corrective action in case of delays or deviations
- Informing and advising customers on shipments and customs regulations
- Acting as the first point of contact for freight and customs-related questions
- Collaborating with warehouse, customer service, supply chain, and external service providers
- Accurately recording and archiving shipment data and documents
- Identifying and contributing to process improvements
- Supporting internal and external customs audits
